The Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (OADC) seeks a People and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Advocate (People and EDI Advocate). This visionary and dedicated team leader will be passionately committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), transforming organizational culture, building a collaborative community, and providing exceptional human resource services.

The People and EDI Advocate will influence changes in policies and practices within OADC. This FTE (Full-Time Employee) will serve as a conduit to instill and weave equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging throughout OADC’s internal and external initiatives. The People and EDI Advocate will guide OADC’s groundbreaking EDI, People, and Engagement work.

This work will involve overseeing strategic and functional human resources operations and implementing best practices in EDI. They will manage to report progress and metrics on internal and external diversity and inclusion efforts and foster and ensure accountability throughout the OADC. A significant portion of the People and EDI Advocate’s work will relate to human resources activities, particularly diverse recruiting, hiring, and employee retention. See the job description and how to apply here.

The Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Districts of Colorado and Wyoming seeks a full-time Investigator to join our Denver office. We operate under authority of the Criminal Justice Act (18 U.S.C. § 3006A) to represent individuals unable to afford counsel and prosecuted in our federal courts. Our office is committed to serving the distinct needs of these individuals with a diverse group of dedicated professionals who collaborate with, listen to, and advocate on behalf of one another. Job Description: This is an existing, funded position. Our investigators collaborate with our attorneys to provide the best defense for our clients. They conduct field investigations, perform witness interviews, examine/collect evidence, and collect records. They meet with incarcerated clients in county jails and state and federal prisons throughout the state. They investigate and prepare both case and mitigation reports and court presentations. They are proficient in forensic and demonstrative litigation software. Case investigation my require travel within and outside the state. Our office environment is positive, collaborative, and client-centered, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Colorado Division of Criminal Justice Job Opportunity

The Colorado Division of Criminal Justice is now hiring for the Racial and Ethnic Disparities Coordinator for Juvenile Justice Position.  

The Office of Adult and Juvenile Justice Assistance (OAJJA) administers federal and state criminal and juvenile justice funding programs and provides staffing support to the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Board and the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Council. In addition, OAJJA staff are actively involved in policy initiatives intended to improve the criminal and juvenile justice systems. The Governor-appointed Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Council establishes funding priorities for the funding from the OJJDP and serves in an advisory capacity to the Governor and State legislature as well as state agencies on juvenile justice and delinquency prevention matters. Similar to the JJDP Council, the Governor-appointed Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Board establishes funding priorities for the Justice Assistance Grant and serves in an advisory capacity to the Governor and State legislature as well as state agencies on criminal justice matters.
