TRIAL ADVOCACY 2026

Who: Criminal Defense Attorneys - all experience levels!

What: OADC’s 2026 TRIAL ADVOCACY TRAINING.

When: February 9th -13th, 2026

Where: In-person - History Colorado, Downtown Denver  | We are still displaced from our Ralph Carr Building training space, so Trial Advocacy 2026 will be held across the street at History Colorado.

Select from:

• General Track - For attorneys practicing criminal law at any experience level, you will be placed in a group with attorneys at similar experience levels.
• Bring Your Own Case Track - For the most experienced trial attorneys who are currently working on complex, high-level felony cases.

Early Bird Pricing through Sunday, December 14th:

CLEs: Anticipating 35-40 CLEs for this program! This is a whole week of training.

What else: During this fantastic week, over 25 nationally recognized trial advocacy trainers donate their time and expertise to help energize, motivate, and teach participants to transform their trial skills. The training involves plenary sessions and small-group breakout sessions (typically 6-7 per group), where participants work on a sample case from start to finish. Topics include theme and theory, jury selection, opening statements, cross-examination, direct examination, jury instructions, and closing arguments. After faculty instruction and demonstration on a topic, participants work in small groups to develop and enhance their skills in a supportive, safe environment. This training is relevant for all skill levels - whether you are a beginning defender or an experienced trial attorney, you will benefit significantly from this remarkable week of training.
